ABSTRACT
In our present society, communication is more or less the “cannot – do – without” that people always say and the strength of every successful business generally.
The impact of this can be felt in the life of individuals, homes and government establishment, without adequate communication network every activity is useless (paralyzed).countries all over the world has communication industry whose duty it is to acquire communication lines and distribute it equally among the populace of the nation. Most companies need great strength or determination to make it work. In Nigeria the button for communication distribution network is given to Nigeria Telecommunication limited (NITEL). This project work research into the procedure and criteria involved in the telephone line allocation in inhabitants of Enugu by Nitel. In Nigeria today NITEL is having a very big problem with lines allocation due to the fact that it is speculated that lines available to NITEL cannot comfortably go round the country. In the process of this research it was found out that the real problem NITEL is facing were made in the problem, which at the end resulted in the arrival of solution to the problem. A new computerized design, which will always use the available lines at any time to equitably meet the demand of telephone line subscribers in the country; this computerized design is more accurate, reliable even easy to use and comparatively cheap.
ORGANIZATION OF WORK
This project work is primarily designed to give an insight to Computerized Telephone Line Allocation System.
Chapter one talks about introduction to Telephone Line Allocation System, study of problem and objectives as well as definition of the scope.
Chapter two comprises the literature review. Chapter three gives the detailed information about the existing (old) system, while chapter four and five deals with the design and implementation of new system.
Chapter six documents the project work, while chapter seven summaries, conclusion and suggestions were made.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Communication is so important to the world’s activities. People who are separated by distance can effectively and convincely reach one another to do business and share vital information through communication. This is therefore very necessary that every government provide enough and adequate communication network for it citizens so that they will have a sense of belonging in the belonging in the global world . That is why so many telephone networks have been drawn into the country (Nigeria) today. But communication with phone does not only involve having a phone. It involves getting one and at the same time getting connected to the network where you can reach other phones as well as then identifying and reaching you.
This is the whole idea behind telephone line allocation system. That is creating an identification which is usually in a numeric form called telephone line (number) and allocating to any body demand (subscribe) for it. This procedure comes with a problem which this project intends to address.
BACKGROUND OF STUDY
Telecommunication has grace many human activities globally especially with current of GSM communication. One would want to say that technology comes best time, when the need has become paramount. I tried to imagine what would have become of our world and business activities without the wide spread development in telecommunication and technology generally, simply put, the worst would have been expected especially with the growing global population. Many thanks to GSM services would go round to meet the demand by the every day increasing global population. Although many GSM companies such as GLOBACOM, MTN, CELTEL( now ZAIN) for instance in Nigeria.
Provide these services, the nee to meet these service accessible to all. One can imagine the state of the GSM line was a luxury. The cost was simply well above the reach of common man Nigeria. One major cause of this problem was due to the fact that the number of lines locatable to users was limited in supply.
From such a new technology such as the GSM method of line allocation could be a great problem. In providing solution to such problem, it would be necessary to device alternative means of generating and allocating GSM numbers with the marriage of computer and telecommunication, it is easy to develop a computer program that will not only generate and allocate line but also capable of monitoring the system to avoid number application. The project is based on providing solution in this direction.
1.1 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The lines available in the nation today are not enough to serve the teaming population. Globalcom Nigeria has contributed its quarter in the generation and distribution of by setting up the following range of number. 0805, 0807 and 0705. Even other telephone network companies such as MTN, CELTEL(ZAIN) and so on has contributed theirs, But than the problem of acquire more than line while some other person are not able to a ford one.
